As someone who has baked his share of amazing cakes I was not sure if I wanted to purchase a red velvet cake or not (it's one that I make very well with a terrific cream cheese icing).

I bought one of these to appease the non-chocolate fans in the family for my cousin's birthday.

I can say without a doubt this cake is pure perfection. It looks impressive and amazing. It tastes even better. I woke up this morning with a smile knowing there was some leftover sitting in my fridge (it won't be there much longer)! (Posted on 5/19/11)

I bought the 9" for by boss's birthday. It was amazingly unbelievably delicious. Very heavy and dense, yet moist and heavenly. The cake weighed about 10 pounds and was soooo tall. It was beautiful and tasted even better than it looked. I would definitely get this cake again, after I try all the flavors. I have had chocolate which was decadent, and the combo which was fabulous, and the strawberry which was excellent. So far, this one is my favorite. (Posted on 10/29/10)

OMG!! All I can say is this is the BEST Red Velvet Cake I've ever had!!! Tried it this Sat. night at a b-day party and everyone raved about it! Was absolutely delicious! I know I will be ordering from "We Take the Cake" for my next party or even if it's "just because" no special occasion! I was impressed with the layers...it was huge and everyone wanted seconds, so thank God it was big enough to go around for a second "mega" piece! (Posted on 8/2/10)

We ordered this cake for my sons Valentine Party he had for about 20 guest. It was a huge hit, but, after having one slice, I wanted to put it away for myself. It was so delicious, I will be ordering another one for Easter! (Posted on 3/14/10)

In the end, I decided on the Red Velvet Layer Cake and I can testify using my right hand on the Bible that this was far and away the BEST cake I have ever eaten in my life! My husband and I had the red velvet for the top layer of our wedding cake. The next day everyone was raving about it. We recently had our one-year anniversary and enjoyed a fresh red-velvet cake (opting out of the traditional 1-year old frozen cake.) It made for such a sweet sharing of our "wedding" cake once more!
