I live in Chicago and had this cake shipped to my sister in Florida for her birthday in hot, sticky July, The cake arrived via overnight shipping sometime on Friday to her front door. The problem was that she wasn't home when it was delivered, and she ended up coming home via the garage, bypassing the cake on the stoop at the front of her house. She hunkered down in the AC of her house for the rest of the day (it was really hot outside) and didn't discover the cake until the next morning when she went out for the paper. There the cake had sat, in the hot, hot, hot Florida sun for almost a day. When she discovered it, she was expecting to find a pool of chocolate in a pretty box. Instead, she found an ice-cold chocolate cake, with its gorgeous decorating perfectly intact! In fact, she had to let it thaw a bit before she and her family could eat it.
